Locum OV's Required for Food Standards Scotland - 5 - 12 Month Contracts

VetPro Recruitment is recruiting for a Locum Official Veterinarians (OV) on behalf of Food Standards Scotland (FSS). The OV roles are one of the key front-line operational roles within Food Standards Scotland and these staff deliver Official Controls (OC) in approved premises across Scotland, ensuring that meat produced is safe for human consumption. The core work for the OV remains the delivery of Official Controls for safe meat production in Red and White meat slaughterhouses and Game handling establishments (GHE’s). This role will involve working across more than one premises and therefore a driving license and own transport is required. Shift times vary depending on the site but there will be a maximum of 40 hours per week. As well as a drivers license, applicants must be MRCVS qualified and hold the OV (Red/White/Game) qualification. Daily rate is negotiable on application and there is also an allowance towards accommodation.
Locations in which locums are required:
Lockerbie area – Working across 2 premises – Start date or as close to as possible 30/03/26 – 12 month contract from start date
Aberdeen - Working across 2 premises – Start date or as close to as possible 30/03/26 – 5 month contract from start date
Glasgow area - Working across 3 premises – Start date or as close to as possible 30/03/26 – 12 month contract from start date
