Full or Part Time Referral Vet Nurse – Gloucestershire HF1031

Vet Nurse required to join a referral team at a RCVS Accredited Animal Hospital in Gloucestershire. Joining a friendly team of 9 first opinion vets, 10 specialist referral clinicians in soft tissue, orthopaedics, medicine, ophthalmology and dermatology, and also 30 RVNs. The role will be working in surgery, ophthalmology, medicine, dermatology and wards. Responsibilities range from inpatient care, anaesthesia and procedure assistance for all referral cases. Some cover of first opinion work may be required at times and during weekends. Looking for 24-40 hours cover a week and are open to flexible suggestions in working patterns and hours, however, you will need to cover Monday, Thursday and Friday at a minimum. Weekend cover is 1:8 with TOIL or can be incorporated into weekly contracted hours if part-time. On-call during the week is between 10pm and 8am on a rota basis. There are 5 operating theatres, ultrasound, X-ray, endoscopy and CT, the practice also has a separate dog, cat and exotic wards. The ideal candidate will preferably be an RVN with referral nursing experience. Looking for someone who is competent in advanced inpatient care and anaesthesia.
