Registered Vet Nurse – Near Glasgow HF2605

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a friendly and supportive team at an RCVS Accredited Small Animal Practice near Glasgow. Duties include consultations, radiographs, laboratory work, anaesthetics, stock control, equipment maintenance, assisting student nurses and much more. Working 38 hours per week (part time hours can also be considered) Across 5 days but can accommodate a 4 day week if preferred with 1:4 Saturday morning (8am-12pm) with No OOH. Busy 4 Veterinary Surgeon, 3 Veterinary Nurse and 2 Animal Care Assistant with an interesting and varied case load. There is a medicine certificate holder so perform a lot abdominal and cardiac ultrasounds, as well as in house microscopy. Forward thinking and friendly team who utilise nurses in all aspects of the job.There are vets with surgical interests so perform a wide variety of non-routine soft tissue surgeries. One of the vets is trained in veterinary acupuncture and is building a large caseload. There is also a visiting orthopaedic surgeon which allows patients to receive orthopaedic operations without having to travel afield. The practice has ultrasound, x-ray, very well-equipped laboratory, separate dog and cat wards and up to date anaesthetic monitoring equipment. Ideally placed between both Edinburgh and Glasgow for an easy commute. The position can be adapted to someone with a lot of experience or someone requiring more support. A candidate with experience in clinical coaching will be able to assist in training of student veterinary nurses. The successful candidate will be able to contribute to continuing to develop the great Veterinary Nursing team with support from the other experienced vet nurses.
