New graduate small animal vet required for a group of 7 branches based in Cheshire. Including a recently opened hospital, housing the multi-disciplinary referral team and 24-hour A&E. The practice is close to the Peak District, motorway networks, and Manchester Airport. The support of the New Graduate Scheme to back you up we feel confident it is a supportive place to work with established practices in place to ensure that the transition to general practice after graduation runs as smoothly as possible. Each graduate is assigned an in-house mentor to work alongside, and this year the mentors will be undergoing the newly created RCVS Vet GDP training. Excellent support you will work alongside another vet until you feel confident to work more independently.There is no on call at the practice as it has it’s own 24-hour clinic with a dedicated, experienced hospital and night team, including several certificate holders and a team of experienced nurses. New graduates will gradually get exposed to emergency work with back up and reassurance once settled in. The vet will be added to the weekend rota when confident, working 1 in 4 Saturday and Sundays in the hospital 5-11pm, followed by a Monday and Tuesday off in lieu after weekend worked.
