Our client, a large charity based organisation are looking for a Veterinary Nurse with excellent leadership qualities to join their existing team as an Assistant Clinic Manager. Ideally you will be fully qualified, with 2+ years experience in practice and ready to take the step from VN to a supervisory level. The main duties of the role are administrative and managerial, with 1-2 days nursing work. Your average duties will be

â?¢ To implement the Branch animal welfare procedures within the Clinic environment
â?¢ Promote and impart animal welfare and clinical best practice to team members
â?¢ To ensure that animal husbandry standards are maintained at the Clinic and to participate in the animal cleaning duties
â?¢ To undertake general nursing duties as required by the Clinic Manager and attending Veterinary Surgeon
â?¢ To be part of the management team within the Clinic, supervising staff and volunteers to ensure that policies, procedures and best practice is adhered to. This will include training staff and volunteers on procedures
â?¢ Liaison with other welfare establishments, other Animal Welfare charities and private veterinary practices
â?¢ To ensure that the Branch vision of never turning an animal in need away is embedded in the activities of the Clinic
â?¢ To ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness throughout the Clinic
â?¢ To monitor and maintain standards and stock levels as directed by the Clinic Manager
â?¢ To engender within the Clinic a professional and welcoming approach to the public
â?¢ To ensure that documentation is maintained accurately and kept up to date
â?¢ Participate as required in staff and volunteer inductions.
â?¢ To take a keen interest in ensuring the financial targets of the Clinic are achieved
â?¢ To undertake the out of hours emergency point of contact duties (if living on site â?? studio flat available)
â?¢ To take the lead within the Clinic for the publicity, promotion and marketing of the services and facilities that the Clinic offers
â?¢ On occasions, to cover duties at the Branchâ??s Rehoming Centre (including the Bank Holiday rota)
Subsidised accommodation is available with this position, and the practice would ideally like somebody who would take this, however it is not essential that you do. Salary is up to £22,000 per annum. This is an excellent position for somebody looking to keep using their nursing skills, but also move into a management environment.
